A Project Manager Measured in Emotional Intelligence
What Are The Components of Emotional Intelligence?
+ Self-awareness - the ability to read one's emotions and recognize their impact while using gut feelings to guide decisions.
+ Self-management - involves controlling one's emotions and impulses and adapting to changing circumstances.
+ Social awareness - the ability to sense, understand, and react to others emotions while comprehending social networks.
+ Relationship management - the ability to inspire, influence, and develop others while managing conflict.
Why Is This Important?
Project Management is one of the most challenging and ever changing professions. I consider Project Management an art and a science, and I believe it to be a study in many disciplines. To be a successful Project Manager, one must not only be skilled and knowledgeable in the field they work in, they must also possess key traits that allows them to lead unconditionally, be risk adverse yet fearless, be willing to trust and be trusted, and utilize resources to complete work they themselves cannot do single-handedly. All while maximizing efficiencies and costs to maintain a budget.
A Project Manager must make the improbable possible, and drive to complete a project through any situation. they must be visionary, analytical, thought provoking, inspiring, social, charismatic, respected, and knowledgeable. Accomplishing all of this, and still have a personal life, may seem like a Herculean task, therefore organized efficient thinking leading to efficient actions is a must

Why am I Different?
Possessing an acute level of emotional intelligence allows me to accomplish all of these things as a Project Manager, and as a person. Work is life, and life is work, therefore I practice these skills inside and outside work. To be clear, the lines are not blurred, because I am self aware, and therefore able to be the best I can be under any circumstance. When you are able to truly be yourself and allow for complete self realization, you are able to push for excellence and obtain satisfaction in all that you do.
I live my life as a "Project Manager", and see life as a project of great importance and meaning. With timelines, and deadlines, resources, risks, and changes, life is merely a series of projects and activities all with start and end dates. Dependent projects, all leading to a final product release. That product release is "you" or the person.
Everyday we live our lives, as Project Managers, some better than others. Being aware and maximizing my emotional competencies allows for me to be the best project manager possible, inside and outside of work. Let me show you what I can do. View My Profile on Linkedin or Follow me on Twitter.
